How to submit a bug

Bug Submission Process for Live Investor 2009

Please follow this process to submit bugs for the preview and beta versions of Live Investor

Please do not call in for technical support.  This is pre-production, beta, preview software.  Our support people are not fully trained on this platform yet and cannot answer questions.

ALL SUPPORT for the new version is handled by email via the address below.  Please read the remainder of this article.

First, check the BUG LIST to see if anything listed there sounds like what happened to you.  Duplicate submissions will slow down our ability to resolve issues with the preview versions. 

If it's not listed, you can submit a bug report.  Here is what we are looking for in a bug report:

  1. Note what you were doing when you experienced the error.
  2. A screenshot of the program at the time of the error (optional but it would be nice!)
  3. The contents of your Support Files folder.
  4. Tell us if this is a consistent error that you can reproduce every time or if it seems to be intermittent.

Please follow these steps to send us your bug report:

First, if you can take a screenshot of the error, please do that. 
Then, go to your My Documents folder, and locate the Support Files folder.  Right click on the Support Files folder and choose "Send to" and the "Compressed Folder".  This will create "Support Files.zip" in your My Documents folder.

Finally, create an email message:

  • The subject should contain "BUG" as the first word followed by whatever the subject is about
  • Type up your description of the problem as clearly - but as briefly as possible.  Avoid emotional content please.
  • Attach Support Files.zip and your screenshot(s) if you have one.  After you send your email message you can delete the file called "Support Files.zip"
